Happy Spring!

Spring is finally here in Chicagoland. The temperatures were in the 60s today, and we spent most of the afternoon outside with Evan. Rick and I put together one of Evan's birthday gifts from grandma and grandpa. It's a Rock, Roll n Ride Trike. You can use it as a rocker, a push along tricycle or a regular tricycle. As soon as we finished putting it together (which took FOREVER), Evan hopped on immediately. He loved it! His feet don't touch the pedals yet, but he had fun being pushed around. After awhile, he hopped off and wanted to push it himself.

When it was time to go inside and have dinner, Evan was not happy! Yes, this is his first picture of a tantrum. Arms are up...
Then slammed down on the chair.

On a side note, notice the shoes Evan is wearing in the first few pictures. Back when Evan started walking, I took him to Stride Rite to get his feet measured. For shoe widths there is regular, wide, and extra wide. Yes, MY son has extra wide feet. Kind of ironic for someone who's feet are so small she can never find a pair that fits. Needless to say, about the only place that carries extra wide is Stride Rite. I went back to get his feet remeasured last week to see if they have grown at all. They had, so Evan now has a new pair of gym shoes, still extra wide. I asked the saleswoman if his feet will always be this wide. She responded with, "Well, they MAY go down to a wide someday, but..." So I guess I need to get used to the idea that I will be paying more for Evan's shoes that I will ever pay for my own!

Here is a much more peaceful picture of Evan using his lion as a pillow during his nap.

One night for dinner this week we had spaghetti, and Evan insisted on feeding himself. This is the aftermath, with sauce up his nose, in his eyebrows, in his hair and under his fingernails. Evan had a bath much earlier than his usual time.

So cute! I'm excited to get Bryn out to try her Christmas bike as well. Love the spaghetti picture!

One of my new co-workers has a 2 year old. They are currently trying to figure out when and how to break her of the habit of eating pasta naked. Mom had decided it was too messy to clean child and clothes, but now when the pasta comes out of the cabinet, the daughter starts stripping...
